SPECIAL ATTENTION TO DETAIL - PREPRESS INFORMATION
To ensure accurate output from the artwork supplied by you, our prepress
technicians are trained to be detail oriented.
Our systems are Macintosh and PC based, and we have the capability to produce
film for you in-house. Supply your artwork to us either on file, on disk, or
by uploading it to our ftp site - and let our trained professionals take it
from there.
Be sure to check out our file specifications before creating your documents
for us to print.
General Information:
The following are general guidelines in preparing document for Liberty Press
to produce film directly from your electronic files. If you have any questions
about these instructions, do not hesitate to call us and ask questions before
creating your document.
This will help you to avoid creating a document that we are unable to print.
Not all documents print to film the same way they print to your printer; however
if you follow these guidelines, it will reduce the risk of us receiving an
unusable document.

If your graphics contain more than one spot color, they must be saved as

name must be used exactly that way within your document, and the name is case

When creating your document, be sure to use the proper font variation (NOT
THE FONT STYLE BUTTON). For Example, use the font "TimesItalic" to

Regular" font.
Be sure to include both screen fonts and printer fonts.
Adobe Type 1 and True Type are both acceptable
IBM/PC:
Adobe Type 1 and True Type are both acceptable
Spot Color:
A SPOT COLOR print job usually consists of one, two or three specifically
mixed ink colors. If more than three colors are used in the job, it usually
is best to print the job in PROCESS color rather than spot color. Some examples
of spot color jobs may be:
- Print job consisting of only black ink
- Print job consisting of black and one or two spot colors (like
red and blue) for emphasis on certain section of the document
- Print jobs consisting of one, two or three colors other than black
Process Color:
A PROCESS COLOR print job usually consists of several colors (more than three)
containing items such as photos, full color graphics or artwork.
This type of printing requires a mixing of Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black
(CMYK) to create virtually any color within your document.
